Terry Dinan, a native New Yorker, found himself in 1967 after completing

Army OCS and the Open Mess Management Course assigned to the

Quartermaster Corps as a member of MACV-IV in the Mekong Delta city of

Can Tho. His adventures and engaging descriptions of the inept and

enlightened, the brilliant and absurd, the hilarious and tragic events he

witnessed makes compelling reading. Running the mess halls, commissary,

officers club, NCO club, enlisted men’s club, currency exchange and billeting

service gave him an overview of many aspects of military life and his tales told

in a breezy, heartwarming way would make a prize winning sitcom.

Terry and his wife live in NYC. After a long career in the hospitality industry,

he is currently an adjunct professor at New York City College of Technology
